BOWL - The Origins
As a queer filmmaker, I am focused on telling stories about LGBTQ+ identities that are under-represented.
After watching 'Challengers' (2024), I had the idea of what would challengers look like if it were older people? And to me that became inherently funny so I knew this had to be a comedy.
From there, I chose Lawn Bowls as the chosen sport for our film as they are so rarely sen on screen. After all those elements were put together, I then worked on finding ways to include queer themes as well.
This gave us such a good foundation to create a story which our writer Saoirse has done an amazing job developing the story and fleshing out our characters!
